Rest In Peace…

Hey everyone, after a hectic/busy week off I’m back for good now, in between my girlfriend stopping for the week, me being at work and generally doing other stuff I haven’t had much internet time as of late.

Seems like the riots have finally quietened down with five dead, quite a few members of the public injured, 186 police officers injured, more than 1500 arrests made with about half that many already charged. It’s good that it’s finally stopped, Manchester council are trying to find out about evicting their tenants of people that were involved in the riots, which is something they totally deserve, you destroyed Manchester so we’ll make you live on the streets.

Sort of a piss take that they’ve asked for a chief of police from the States to come over and help us police the streets, why do we need this guys opinion? It’s simple how to police the streets, be forceful! I’m just glad all the madness is over and hopefully we can get back to normal and rebuild.

Bit of an update on what’s been happening though, they’ve extended my contract at Ventura so instead of just working for 2 weeks I’m now on par for at least 6 weeks, on top of that tomorrow I have an interview with a company called The Tribal Group basically doing a service desk role, which at the same time sounds daunting and cool. I think it’s a pretty safe bet I won’t have to do customer service for o2 in September.

Manager: Stop vandalizing the computer!

Me: How about I vandalize your FACE?!

Manager: Oh that reminds me are you alright staying for another two weeks?

I’ve booked an appointment with the doctor for my hemorrhoids, seven months down the line and nothing has worked it’s about time I get something done about it I think.

I've never need those purple massaging hands until now!

The biggest news I’ve had this week is a death of the family, my 1.5tb external hard drive! I unplugged it last week when I tried to install a graphics card into my computer, plugged it back in afterwards it had just suddenly stopped working! I didn’t even drop the damn thing or anything all I did was simply unplug it and boom! Dead! My parents went away for the week so I didn’t need to use it all that much but when they returned Sunday, I got my dad to try and fix it, he took it apart and couldn’t get into any of the files or anything, I’ve tried to run several data recovery programs on it, it’s no use!

1.5tb of music, films, tv shows, photo’s, work, my life gone! Just because the hard drive just decided to give up. In a world where my dad has cancelled our Sky subscription, my only salvation was my hard drive. Now with that gone, I got home from work today, found myself with nothing to do and nothing to watch and ended up falling asleep about half 7, great back to an abnormal sleeping pattern again! A day before my interview!

TV shows that I had been collecting for years, no matter, I can always download again, same with movies and music but the main thing that really got me pissed was the 60gb of porn I had lost! I had been steadily building that up for close to 10 years! All of it gone! I honestly thought I was having a nightmare, smashing my head against the wardrobe hoping I would wake up. Instead I was closer to going to sleep!

I want to get a new one, I’ll have to wait until my overdraft goes down a bit first, but do I really want to risk losing all of my stuff again just over a case of unplugging the thing? Maybe I’ll get two and that way I’ll be able to back things up and won’t have to suffer the sharp sudden punch to the kidneys this hard drive seems to have given me!

So now with what was my best friend in France now resting peacefully in the bin, half beaten to death by a baseball bat, I find myself at a loss for things to do. I have plenty of DVDs to watch but that they’ve been watched to death, perhaps I’ll take up reading for a hobby?

Catching up with a weeks worth of blog entries from the people that I follow will keep me busy for a couple of days. Expect more blogging to occur from myself now I have nothing else better to do!

  1. There is some great prescription crèmes for hemorrhoids now-a-days, I had to go to the Doc a few years back and it worked great.

Sorry to hear about the old hard drive, try using Acronis to backup your hard drive, it works great and has saved my ass in the past.

    1. I’ve used all sorts of crémes and suppositories and nothing has worked, I’m hoping he doesn’t shove his hand up there tomorrow =/

I’ll definitely try Acronis when I’ve managed to fill another hard drive haha thanks 🙂
